Serving Together in Unity and Love

Aloha Brothers and Sisters,

I want to extend my deepest, most heartfelt thank you to each of you for your overwhelming support and prayers since I was called to serve in the new Bishopric. Stepping into this role is deeply humbling, but your warmth and kindness have made this transition incredibly joyful.

As a Bishopric, we are constantly inspired by your willingness to jump in and serve. We are currently working diligently to extend callings and fill vital vacancies within our ward auxiliaries. As you can imagine, this process takes sincere prayer, careful thought, and time.

We want to extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who has already met with us, accepted new responsibilities, or selflessly transitioned out of a previous calling to allow others a chance to serve.

The Prophet Mosiah taught us that the Lord's people should look forward together, “having their hearts knit together in unity and in love one towards another” (Mosiah 18:21). We see this unity in action every single time a ward member willingly steps up to look out for, lift, and support a fellow member.

Thank you for having that shared desire to build up our ward family. We are making quite a few organizational changes right now, and your patience, faith, and sustaining support mean more to us than words can express.

I truly look forward to serving alongside each of you.

Weekly Family Message

I love the Come Follow Me message this week that reminds us to find refuge in God. When we take the time to reflect on the ways God has provided for us and sheltered us we can be filled with gratitude. This week try to focus your prayers on praise and gratitude. At the end of the week share with your family what blessings you noticed when you focused your prayers on gratitude.

An Update from Elder Jonathan Yadao

Where are you currently serving?

I am currently serving in Preston, Idaho!

What has been a challenge lately?

I've had 3 companions in this area, and it has been interesting to work with each of them in different ways. Serving up here in North Cache has required me to acclimate to different cultures and people, but it has helped me grow in ways I otherwise wouldn't have.

Where have you seen God's hand in your missionary work?

I see God's hand in the small miracles that happen every day. Christ's promise about prayer in 3 Nephi 18:20 has helped me trust more in the power of prayer. He answers when we ask, and even when we falter, He welcomes us back with open arms and another chance to try.

What would you like the K4 Ward members to know?

I want the ward to know that you are all part of a special plan — a plan of individuality and unique love. I know God wants to help anyone who reaches out to Him in faith, and that He keeps His covenants perfectly. I also want you to know that I love you, and I will be praying for Hawai'i.
